VW (VENEKLASEN/WERNER) is pleased to announce SUMMER, an exhibition featuring works by video artist Christiane Fochtmann and painters Kaoli Mashio, Angela Mathis and Dorothea Stiegemann.

Fochtmann, Mashio, Mathis and Stiegemann - all fellow students under Peter Doig at the Dusseldorf Academy - maintain four distinct aesthetic positions in their given medium.

SUMMER evolved out of VW's sprawling group show Self-Consciousness, which explored varied approaches to portraiture and identity in painting and film. SUMMER focuses on four emerging artists from that exhibition. This is their first major showing in a Berlin gallery.
